Our new lives
Times have changed. In a time where we should appreciate being healthy and well, being alive. Instead, we’re trapped within the confines of our mind, in the throws of a pandemic, not knowing whether to laugh, cry or scream.
We’re also living in a pandemic, in a time where common sense must prevail, a time where we must think about and put others first by following the rules, so that they may live, whilst we save our own lives also.
‘Where my mask protects you, your mask protects me.’ It is important we are selfless, it is important we wear masks in public places. We’re living in a time where people are dying, at a time we are enduring a global crisis.
The pandemic is collectively about us, we must come from a place of support. There will be many of us mentally and emotionally trying to find ‘normalcy’ around the pandemic. My mind often spirals into over-drive quickly, when things are out of my control.
Our existence and coping strategies have all changed. We must change moving forward. Our mindset must stay firm, focused and in control of us all doing our part to help reduce the virus and support one another. Governments must take the lead.
Around my autism I have more instability and uncertainty. I have a life of mental repetition made worse because of the pandemic. Now we must all find ways to adjust into our lives into our 'new normal.' We must all come through together, stronger and more focused than we have ever been. It is during these times, we have lessons to learn.
The pandemic should be about us working and supporting one another to help reduce it, so we can all live and get back to what was a more 'normal life.'
