things that are unique about my portrayal of lexa:
while she manages to get shot, the injury doesn't kill her. in order to save her body the commander has to " die. " the flame is destroyed in surgery and there's no possible way to repair it ( even if different clansmen demanded that they try. )
with the flame destroyed, there is no true commander of the twelve clans, and there is no one leading them. without a true commander along with the imminent destruction of praimfaya closing in, there is a difference in how things should be handled. many people still want to follow lexa as it's deeply rooted into their faith, but there are others who are trying to say that without the previous commanders to guide lexa, she's nothing more than a power hungry child.
lexa feels torn in terms of her priorities: does she try and lead or does she take the chance to truly live? her new lease on life can be summed up in one statement: YOU COME BACK, BUT YOU COME BACK WRONG.
