Jamie: Oh no
Claire: Oh yes
Freshly reunited, injured Claire literally leans on Jamie for support.
Just look at their posture. She leans on him - and he supports her. Stands solidly, confidently. So happy to be at her side - to help her in whatever way she needs.
Together they are united. They will face whatever comes, together. Quietly confident in their support for each other.
Light
In 03x11 “Uncharted,” Claire is only able to catch Jamie’s attention on the beach by pointing a mirror at the sun.
Not only does Jamie see the reflection - but the light from Claire’s small mirror shines all over his body. Including - in the still below - his heart.
How many times does Jamie compare Claire to light? Her very name means “light.”
How fitting, then, that it is her light - touching his heart - that brings them back to each other.
1. Jamie screaming Claire’s name when he spots her in the spyglass in 03x11 *was not scripted*
2. Neither was Jamie screaming Claire’s name as he desperately runs through the surf. Or Claire screaming Jamie’s name as he rushes to her.
3. Neither were the reunion hugs and kisses.
“I want him.” I had not said that to Jamie at our marriage; I had not wanted him, then. But I had said it since, three times; in two moments of choice at Craigh na Dun, and once again at Lallybroch.
“I want him.” I wanted him still, and nothing whatever could stand between us.
He was looking down at me; I could feel the weight of his gaze, dark blue and tender as the sea at dawn.
“What are ye thinking, mo chridhe?” he asked softly.
I blinked back the tears and smiled at him. His hands were large and warm on mine.
“What I tell you three times is true,” I said. And standing on tiptoe, I kissed him as the sailor‟s cheer went up.

mirroring
Laoghaire shoots Jamie and injures his left arm.
As she runs to find Jamie, Claire injures her right arm.
Injuries that are mirror images of each other. And also bring Jamie and Claire closer together.
How beautiful is it that the only person both Claire and Jamie trust to tend her wound is Yi Tien Cho? And, that he is entrusted with cooking Claire something nourishing to eat when she is ill?
I so, so love the mutual respect between these two outlanders. Such a lovely and thoughtful adaptation.
Why can't Jamie inject Claire with the penicillin she so desperately needs?
Not because he doesn't trust himself. Because he knows it hurts, and he can't stand knowing he has caused her pain.
"I can bear pain myself - but I couldna bear yours."
