i’m always going to be pissed that loki’s “journey” ended up being the exact same as every other abused/neglected character’s journey in media

it’s really the abused kid’s “obligation” to forgive their family their faults and learn to live with it while their family actually doesn’t do a god damn thing to change their ways 

or worse that the abused kid is actually the one in the wrong because of whatever reason, they’re not really being abused, they’re just “sensitive” or a “troubled kid”

the writers can shove the idea that thor has “changed” all they want in my face but the fact of the matter is he hasn’t

and odin hasn’t done a god damn thing to earn loki’s forgiveness and love 

so from this emotionally abused kid to the writers: kiss my asshole.

someone: how do you like to spend your saturdays, sigyn? gardening? reading? staying in bed all day? sigyn: by debating with my children how the universe works and if a god could theoretically exist outside of such machinations and manipulate them without destroying said universe

i think one thing that really hurt ragnarok for me as a movie was letting the actors ad-lib a lot of their stuff

like... look. chris hemsworth does actually have good comedic timing. but ad-libbing in character was... not his strong suit. (every time he said “oh my god” it threw me out of the movie entirely.) 

it works for people like rdj because he’s talented and skilled enough to ad-lib while in character 

chris hemsworth seems to belong to the group that thinks ad-libbing means “lol so wacky!!!! so random!!!!!” even if it breaks character or throws established world building out of the window

(also. tom hiddleston didn’t seem to be putting his all into this go around. but maybe that’s because his stuff just wasn’t as interesting as the last two movies.)
