[ just a friendly reminder (as i go through drafting things) that when i use icons in which he looks similar to above -- as in, he has a short, scruffy beard -- there's a 100% chance he's not blackbeard.

blackbeard is a character he created around his own image after his beard had grown to an impressionable length. otherwise, he is simply edward thatch. i cannot stress it enough that it's v. awkward for me to be using his younger icons and have someone call him blackbeard. his reign as blackbeard lasted 2 years of his entire career; he was a successful pirate long before that, especially whilst sailing with hornigold.

please just keep in mind that blackbeard is not nor will it ever be his identity regardless, and that he's simply an "act" thatch put together to avoid bloodshed. ]
