I know I wrote on the bottom of Niko’s Bio page that he’s very empathetic and in tune to the emotions of other people, but he also feels a certain vibe off people depending on how much light or darkness is in their heart.
Like for examples sake someone like Kairi or Ven or a princess of heart would be the most comforting thing. A heart of light like his own is very exciting cause hes never met anyone like that before. He’d instantly trust them and support them in all their endeavors.
Anyone with an average balance of light and darkness, or light leaning, is a normal occurrence to Niko. he doesn’t really acknowledge it much besides being quietly relieved they’re not leaning towards darkness.
Anyone with more darkness in their heart, or are pure darkness, immediately set Niko on edge. As soon as he gets a hint of that darkness he wants to get out of there and leave said person to their own devices. Niko grew up around Magdalena’s own heavy darkness and detecting that same vibe off someone else is very scary to him. Not to mention Heartless are dark, and the dark stole his home away.
(I’d like for Niko to one day sit down and realize darkness isn’t evil but after everythings that happened to him and how he associated it with everything that went wrong with his life..,,,, It’s gonna take a lot of work to change his mind.)
