Over RequiemZ - Prologue - English translation

It was much more longer than I thought, at least the chapters are easier to translate

The choices don't really have any impact on the story apart from the bonuses, I'll put the bonus choice in those cases

News : Due to this incident, 143 people suffered injuries. 2 people are yet to be found

News : Some buildings in the surrounding neighborhoods have disappeared, the local residents are anxious due to there being no traces of the buildings' collapse

News : We are concerned about the safety of the missing individuals

A place where time has stopped flowing, where air and space seem to fall down. I was there, dozing off

There was seemingly no one around. In this completly withe space, I was alone.

??? : In this world, they say you can make life-changing choices. But, you can only make a feu of them before dying

??? : If you were given the possibilities to, which path would you choose ?

Choices : (このまま眠り続ける) : Stay like this <- You can't advance the story if you choose this, it will loop (目を覚ます) : Open my eyes

Yuhiru : (This is…)

??? : Thank godness…You've opened your eyes…

Weird looking young man : How are you feeling ? Are you hurting anywhere ?

Yuhiru : …Eh…? Y-yes… I'm fine…

Weird looking young man : Eh ?

Yuhiru : Why, am I here… My memory is fuzzy. I can't really recall what happened

Yuhiru : (What happened…I'm sure…the sky turned into a strange color. The wind blew hard, and then--)

Yuhiru : Yes that's it ! I was picked up by a tornado ! The wind was so strong that I was swooped off the ground !

Yuhiru : Then, suddendly…The sky cracked and opened up right before my eyes

Yuhiru : And so I was swallowed in, and fainted

Dorothy : There are currently four of us though. Oh and we do not wield magic. This is only in fairy tales (wait fr Dorothy isn't)

Yuhiru : Wait, King ? Am I…in another country ? This isn't Japan ?

Dorothy : Please stay cam and listen closely. You were swallowed by a rift in the sky, thus ending in this world

Dorothy : You are currently in a foreign kingdom…in another world. You could say

Yuhiru : …Another world…

Dorothy : Well, it looks like you are still not convinced. Seeing is believing after all. Please take a look outside. We can see the town from here

Yuhiru : Eh…

Dorothy : We are in this kingdom called Oz. This is the proud millenium-old kingdom, surrounded by a desert

Two white moons are visible in the clear blue sky. From up there, the city didn't look familiar. There was stone houses, carriages going back and forth and people in clothes I've never seen

Outside the castle walls surrounding the city, there was a yellow-colored brick path extending into the lush green moor.

I immediatly saw the castle, looking as if it was from a travel brochure. And I saw where I was. I was inside an ivy covered tokyo tower. At the very top nonetheless

Yuhiru : Are you kidding me ?

- Fade to black and opening -

- Flashback scene -

Dorothy : A long time ago, this place was an endless desert. About a thousand years back, small communities came together as one to form a kingdom

Dorothy : Around that time, strange things started happening. All of a sudden, the sky slit apart all over the land and weird structures appeared

Dorothy : People wondered how were they build…? Those strange places were called Ruins

Dorothy : The desert turned everything around it into lush greenery. The kingdom became prosperous and thrived under the rule of the first King. However--

Dorothy : Despite the blessing the Ruins brought, at the same time, monsters began roaming the place and scared the people away

Dorothy : A thousand-year old kingdom, that thrived even beside Ruins. This is our kingdom…Oz

Yuhiru : The kingdom of Oz…this isn't Japan…

Yuhiru : (Because I was sucked into that rift, I ended up in another world ? It actually happens…!?)

Dorothy : How is it ? Do you believe me now ?

Yuhiru : It's not about if I believe it or not, with everything you've shown me, I'm forced to accept it…

Yuhiru : So this is Oz… I was sucked into a weird space and now I'm this world…

Dorothy : It appears so. On behalf of the people of Oz, I welcome you in our kingdom. O dear visitor from another world

Dorothy : Although our kingdom is closed off by the desert surrounding it, there are a lot of beautiful places to visit and delicious food to discover. Please enjoy your stay here

Yuhiru : I don't have time for that. I need to quickly get back home

Dorothy : Oh my, and why is that ?

Yuhiru : Why you ask… At this rate, if I can't go home it'll be a serious issue. How can I get back to where I was ?

Dorothy : Unfortunately, I do not know how. I only found you laying there

Dorothy : Why are you asking me… Then how about settling here ? Isn't our castle town lovely ?

Dorothy : This is the heart of the kingdom, our regal capital, Emerald city. That building over there is the Royal Palace

Dorothy : And the ivy-covered tower, the one you are currently in is called "the Tower of Ruins", it is another Ruin

Yuhiru : …Hm ? A Ruin ?

Yuhiru : Here…this place, is a Ruin ?

Dorothy : Yes indeed, it is quite a curious tower, is it ? We have no idea how it was built. Such things are all over the kingdom.

Dorothy : As I stated before, it is said to come from another world. At least that what the legends say

Yuhiru : (Wait, this…isn't it the Tokyo Tower ? It came from another world ? Maybe that other world he's speaking of, is Japan ?)

Dorothy : In fairy tales, it is said that the strange phenomenons that occur in the Ruins connect to other worlds. No one believe it though

Yuhiru : The strange phenomenons from the Ruins…connect to other worlds…

Yuhiru : (In short, if I go there, I may find a way to go back to Japan !)

Yuhiru : Dorothy-san was it !?

Dorothy : You can call me Dorothy. No need to be so formal

Yuhiru : So, Dorothy. That Ruin where that strange phenomenon happened you're talking about, how long would it take to get to the closest one ?

Dorothy : Do no tell me…you want to go in ? In those Ruins where strange phenomenons occur ? Why would you do that ?

Yuhiru : That other world is called Japan-- and it may be where I came from. If I go into those Ruins, I may find a way to go back !

Dorothy : Right… but as I said earlier, the idea that Ruins are linked to other worlds is nothing more than a fairy tale. Same thing as the legend you see ?

Dorothy : It often takes several days to get to a Ruin in the first place. Do you have any experience travelling alone ? What about the bandits and animals, what would you do if you were attacked ?

Yuhiru : I…don't know. But I have no other ways, I have to go. No matter how I need to get back home.

Dorothy : …Do you, want to go home that much ?

Dorothy : His Majesty passed away half a year ago. Then, all of a sudden, a symbol of misfortune appeared. Because of that, a lot of people want to get rid of them before they cause any more harm

Yuhiru : No way…

Dorothy : You will have an hearing but nothing more than mere formalities. Even if I argue that you came from another world, I doubt they would trust me

Yuhiru : ...I know they probably won't believe it. But, can't we do something ?

Dorothy : Indeed, they are very dangerous. It is why subjugation expeditions are essential. This is the burden of---death row inmates

Yuhiru : Death row inmate take care of the monsters ?

Dorothy : But in reality, it is a risky task that often leads to many casualties and because of that, less people have been volunteering. This is how we came to send death-row inmates instead

Dorothy : If they were to come back alive then, as a pardon, their sentence would be reduced. In other terms, they would avoid the death penalty and be acquitted. If they do not wish to die, then this is their only choice

Yuhiru : I see, for someone who've been sentenced to death, they wouldn't be opposed to it…

Dorothy : This time around, the Ruins have awoken earlier than expected. We have fever death row inmates and as of now, what we have is not sufficient enough

Dorothy : So in order to have more people ready, it seems that you have been sentenced to death

Yuhiru : I'm not happy about that…

Yuhiru : In short-- I'll have to go and come back safely from the Ruins in order to be released ? Even if…I'm a fearful demon possessed ?

Dorothy : Indeed, even Nenohs and other powerful nobles would not dare to oppose it. It is a long lasting tradition after all

Yuhiru : Furthermore, if I go into the Ruins, I may be able to find a way to go back to Japan--

Dorothy : Did you IQ suddenly dropped ? I hope not. If you are going to, at least say you are going to explore the Ruins

Yuhiru : I mean, there is no way I can go somewhere filled with monsters. But I can't think of a better way. …I have no other choice but to prepare myself

Dorothy : Other inmates will be going to the Ruins. And I am the one assigned to watch over them. I garantee you this journey will not be boring

Dorothy : After an official hearing, they will decide on your sentence. We will depart for the Ruins a few days later. …Is that okay with you ?

Dorothy : I understand. I vow to keep an eye on the inmates and make sure that their sentences are carried out without any trouble

And so, we were formally sent to explore the Ruins

Dorothy : Well then, everyone. Once more-- I am assigned to be your guide on this journey. I am the witch of the north, Dorothy. Very pleased to make your acquaintance

Dorothy : I will be by your side during this long trip. Shall we introduce ourselves ?

Kaize : No it's unecessary. Since we were all in jail, we somewhat know each other. …There's however one name I'd like to know

Yuhiru : (…! It's about me. Should I go with the flow and give him my name ? I mean, this man…)
