Why Your Portfolio Could Be Destroyed by Overtrading
It is not necessary to make every trade. Indeed, a trader's inability to remain still leads to the creation of some of the worst ones.
Markets fluctuate. Fast. It is easy to think that being active all the time equates to being intelligent. However, that belief comes at a price. It encourages a behavior that has depleted portfolios more than poor advice and market meltdowns put together.
We refer to it as overtrading.
Furthermore, despite its seemingly innocuous sound, its effects are far-reaching.
What Does Overtrading Actually Mean?
Volume is not the only factor in overtrading. It is not always overtrading for a trader to make ten well-thought-out trades. But a person switching jobs with no apparent purpose? That is when the problems start.
Usually, it begins modestly. A swift victory. A quick defeat. The next step is to recuperate. or the worry that one will miss the next big thing. Eventually, it stops being about being correct and starts to be about being in a deal.
And discipline lapses, slowly, silently.
