Young the Giant @ OZY Fest 7.21.18
OZY fest was a unique event to say the least. Set at the Rumsey Playfield Summer Stage the line up included Hasan Minhaj, Common, Young the Giant, and Hillary Clinton; not your typical fest but rather one that’s goal was to create conversation, encourage activism, and to respect diversity in their chosen talent.
As a band who's latest release “Home of The Strange” speaks to their experiences and frustrations as immigrants and first generation Americans I couldn’t have been happier to see Young the Giant headline. Hearing Titus Was Born surround by real rainwater was nothing short of magical, they debuted Simplify from their forthcoming album, and of course ended the night with an electrifying (and drenched) performance of My Body. Between their musical energy and singer, Sameer Gadhia’s wicked dance moves Young the Giant never disappoints.
Be sure the catch them on their fall tour (with LIGHTS!!!) where they’ll be playing two nights at Brooklyn Steel this November, ticket still available here.
