i wish ellipsus had a mobile app so i could write on the go w/o needing to open my web browser

my notes app can only hold sm

i have no problem with the web browser on my laptop but i think it just hates my mobiles smh

i think imma still use ellipsus cuz i like their system but does any1 else know any good writing apps that work good on laptop and mobile? going camping soon and i’d like smth that works so i can jot stuff down w/o worrying abt lack of signal

I have been thinking about the powerful incentive a lot of authors and artists feel to not be seen as struggling, and I think a lot of it is down to a need to veneer whatever’s going on in your life with the reassurance that you, yourself, are not a sinking ship.

People don’t want to be around a drowning person because they’re afraid they’ll be pulled under, and if you need to sell something, whether it’s books or art or Etsy crafts, people think of economic hardship as being contagious, and there’s a fear that they’ll flee if your business is floundering.

So there’s this twisted incentive structure at play where the more dire straits you’re in, unless you’re throwing a gofundme out there (the only socially acceptable form of asking for direct help), the more pressure you feel to not be seen as getting pulled down by the quicksand, lest people flee to avoid being pulled under with you.

This is of course not how the world works at all. Hardship is not contagious, but man do we seem to believe that it is, as a culture.
