An Apology Made of Chocolate || Cambria & Nathan
It was easy to forget other people when wallowing in the pity of your own existence. Well, that was putting it dramatically, but that was what Nathan had been doing these past few long days had boiled down to. Lying in bed and left to his thoughts, things that had been bugging him since his childhood, like the postcard he never posted, had been picked apart and inspected. The things that had happened more recently of course stuck in his mind more than the things that had happened as a kid, and one of those was Rachel. The other was Cambria. There were a few others of course, but those were ones that bothered him the most as he sat in his hotel, walked through Washington or when he was in the gym.
The fight between him and the brunette had not ended well, and somehow he felt as if his mission had just made things worse. He hadn't spoken to her before he left and neither had he since he had come back. It brought up a cringe as he thought of it. But now that he had come back to the most of his senses, he missed his fellow recruit. Their conversations were usually fun and he reminded himself of a specific one as he had walked through Washington the other day, and he had prepared everything for his apology. He had already procured her address as an agent, surprised to find that she had graduated. Well, that's what not talking to each other did, he thought as he stood in front of Cambria's apartment with just a few days to go before it was Christmas, his hand on a cart.
