Calm before the Storm.
Interacting with Julien and Charles was always exhausting. They were lovely men, otherwise Emily wouldn’t have allowed them into her life for so long. Charles’ personality was more subdued, calm and reserved in nature. He was the perfect balance for the bouncy boisterous man that was his husband.
Still, it seemed like Orion and her were under the microscope lately.
Logically, Emily couldn’t blame them. Their situation was anything but normal, extraordinaire since the beginning due to their circumstances, but still. Being looked at as if they were some sort of experiment was far from comfortable. So, after bidding their goodbyes at the restaurant door, the blonde guided Orion away from the place where they parked the car and into a very familiar park.
“Care for some ice cream, Ms. Katsaros?“ Emily asked with a soft smile. “For old time’s sake?“
There should have been some kind of hesitation in that question, the telltale signs of a memory, of an agreement both of them signed. Instead, there was just a playful nature and genuine excitement for what was to come.
“My treat, of course.“
