pull the trigger◦
@mpxdiana continued from here:
Diana blinked, looking down at the Nerf gun in her hand. She had just found it on the shelf in the store and had been admiring it, recalling how she and her brothers had had Nerf gun fights when she was very young. She jumped a bit when someone spoke and she quickly hugged the gun to her chest. She hadn’t realized she was pointing it at anyone. “Oh, I’m sorry! I… don’t think it’s loaded,” she noted, grimacing a bit at herself. Why did she always have to be so awkward?
“Don’t worry, I won’t shoot,” she added after a moment, hazarding a small smile. “Not someone unarmed, anyway.”
"i didn’t say i was afraid you’d hit me,” tohil patiently replies to the young lady across from him. “i said if you point that gun at me, you’d better shoot.”
he keeps a straight face as he says it, but the mischievous amusement ripples right beneath the surface and he doesn’t attempt to hide the fact that he is keeping a straight face on purpose.
“i’ve always wanted to hold a nerf gun battle but i’ve never quite found a willing participant. so unless you’re planning on shooting me - and i am hardly unarmed but i will concede that it’ll work better if i’m holding one of them guns too - you better not point it anywhere in my general direction, for i will see it as a challenge.”
he grins easily then, reaching out to pick up another one of the guns from the shelf and inspecting it to figure out where the ammunition would be loaded in and how many of the little things the gun can hold in particular. then his eyes start skimming the surrounding things on the shelf to figure out where he can get some ammunition for it as well.
perhaps one of his many godly friends here might be up for the challenge now.
