Tastes Like Champagne and Fifteen || Flashback || Alecto and Sirius
Date: December 23rd, 1974 Place: Ball Of Salazar Information: The story of very lost virginity and old childhood friends.
The ball was boring. Which was really to be predicted because Alecto always seemed to end up bored at balls with her parents stuffy friends. Her father would pull her brother off it introduce him to yet another connection that he just needed to have and she'd be stuck with her mother discussing all of the pureblood gossip. The biggest piece of information that she'd found out that evening was that the Minister was in ill-health and they might be needing to consider who society would be backing for the position next. It was tedious.
And so Alecto found herself walking around, stealing glasses of whiskey that had been left unattended and responding politely to comments about how much more grown up she looked and how she must come for tea in a few days. She was sick of them all. Behind the false smiles were a million alliances and forced weddings and all they represented to her was what her life would have to become. Sure, she was set to marry her childhood best friend which made it slightly easier. But she didn't love him like that, she would never love him and those twisted, hateful grins showed what loveless marriages could do to a person.
After an hour of wandering around and avoiding conversations with people she didn't like, Alecto found herself outside. She summoned a glass of whiskey that had been sat unattended near the door and sipped from it absentmindedly as she leant over the balcony and watched the snow fall around them. After a while, she could hear the sound of footsteps behind her. "You know it's not polite to follow a lady, don't you?"
