All I ask.
The ride back to Erickson had been pretty uneventful. Their gigantic unicorn took the entire backseat, but Morgan didn’t care about it when her attention was solely divided between the road and her girlfriend. She held Charlie’s hand all the way to Erickson until finally the Academy came into view. Only then the jock relaxed a bit. Her girlfriend seemed okay, and just some rest could, and hopefully would, go a long way to make things better.
Letting go of Charlie’s hand for just a moment, Morgan went around the car to open the door for her. Their prize was retrieved from the back seat, and after making sure it was safe in Charlie’s arms, Morgan lifted them both. It seemed like a good idea to carry them in her arms to their room, and if it was an actual struggle to manage with the unicorn blocking her view, Morgan said nothing.
Instead, she was extra careful not to cause a new wave of nausea for Charlie. And her extra care lasted until she was able to safely leave the pink-haired beauty on their bed; magic unicorn still on her arms.
A sigh escaped Morgan’s lips then; part relief and part just love.
Charlie was so precious, and there was nothing Morgan wanted more than to make her happy. It didn’t matter if that meant carrying a huge stuffed animal into their room or wait forever; Morgan would do it without a second thought.
“We’re back. Safe and sound. You feeling alright?“
Concern was clear on Morgan’s face, but so was her love. And yes, she totally felt like a sappy character in a bad romcom, but she couldn’t care less. She was happy.
