Dallas wasn't interested in doing much of anything today, though that wasn't a new thing for him. Nowadays, the boy spent more time doing whatever he wanted than he did going to class or anything he needed to do, but the Slytherin didn't care. Classes here were ridiculous and unnecessary, in his opinion. All he needed was to know how to cast the basic spells, and that was good with him - after all, that's all he needs to send some poor younger year running off to their room in tears. He wasn't writing any essays for anyone, and certainly wasn't going to spend any time listening to the professors prattle on like everyone was idiotic and lacking in common sense. Then again, most of the people he'd met since starting school were idiotic and lacking in common sense, so perhaps he had to give the professors the benefit of the doubt. For now.
In any case, Dallas wasn't in class today like he was supposed to be. Instead, he was lounging in the common room, his pet snake, Natalia, curling around his wrist as he twirled his wand. He'd been talking to her all morning, ranting about almost everyone he saw. Not that anyone would know, though, since to everyone else his words just sounded like unintelligible hissing. That was part of the reason he loved being a Parselmouth, really - he could insult a person in the most vile words he knew, but they wouldn't ever understand him. It was great. He started to grin at the thought, about to voice it to Natalia, but it quickly turned into a dark frown as he saw someone walking through the door to the common room. "Candice," he hissed to his snake, "-I hate that bitch." Standing in a single, fluid movement, he narrowed his eyes at the girl. "What do you want, princess?"
