A Good Distraction || Mel&Pippa
Melanie ran around her house trying to clean up the living room that still had a box or two scattered, even though they'd moved in to the house three months ago. And even in all that time, she'd never had someone come over, not even Jeremy or Madeline. It wasn't that she didn't want people over, it was just that... She didn't want people over with her parents. And even though they both had jobs that were supposed to take up a lot of time, they seemed to always be hanging around the house whenever she least wanted them to be. But surprisingly enough, they weren't here tonight. Whether it was a date night, or the president was calling, or whatever the heck they did, she didn't care. She just got to have a night to herself. And Pippa.
Stopping for a second, she wondered what had upset the red head before. She didn't seem to want to talk about it, but it had obviously been disturbing enough to ruin her day. Sighing, she ran in to the kitchen to put a bag of popcorn in the microwave before coming back out into the living room and picking the movie Easy A from the dvd collection on the wall. At least she'd been willing to come over, though. Mel liked thinking that she could help others feel better, even if it was in the smallest of ways. And even though her and Pippa hadn't really hung out before, she still felt that the other girl could be a potential good friend. Once everything had been set up, she let herself collapse on the couch and simply waited for the knocks on the door that would signal her arrival.
