Welcome Home // Self Para
Angel was dead tired by the time he got to his cabin. Between training and the not so happy conversations he had with certain people Angel just wanted to lay down and sleep. As soon as he walked up the stairs of the cabin something seemed off, something wasn't right. So slowly Angel reached for the door.
The sight behind the door was horrible. His cabin was completely trashed and there was something else, a sound maybe? But from where? It sounded like there were snakes in the rafters but that was impossible. Angel tried hard to keep control of his anger but he was tired and he was already upset. He felt himself self slipping and flinched when he heard his pillow explode. Taking a deep breath Angel remind himself to stay calm. This was only a prank. He could use magic to fix everything.
Muttering a few spells the cabin was back to being spotless but Angel was feeling lightheaded. Angel knew who did this. While for being the children of magic they had a pretty weak system of keeping their cabin safe they still had a way of knowing who came and who left- the scroll of paths is what they called it. It was to no surprise when he saw Maverick's name on the scroll. Rolling his eyes Angel said the magic words and the scroll vanished into thin air.
The mess was clear and while the recording still played Angel had spent so many nights in the woods it didn't bother her. At least he still had his bed. He was going to get some sleep.
Everything was fine and he was fast asleep until the first firecracker went off and Angel quite literally fell out of his bed. He was in a dreamy state and confused on where he was for a second. Angel felt like he was back with his dad in the dressing room before a performance, and he was sitting on the counter playing with his toy gun
Pop. Pop. Pop. Each one that goes off sets him more on edge.
And now he's lost in his memories but he's the on looker. He's crying, no wait, seven year old him is crying. His dad is yelling and the glass is splitting. Angel knows this scene well. The glass is about to burst. He didn't have control over his powers then.
Pop. Pop. Pop. More glasses break in his memories and more firecrackers go off in reality.
Now he's thirteen and is on a bus. He's still beaten up from the attack from the chimera but he got kicked out, he's not wanted anymore. His own father called him a monster. The girl next to him keeps popping her gum, it's a harsh sound next to his ear, but he doesn't care. The boy with the traveling home was homeless.
Pop. Pop. Pop. He can't take it anymore.
Not realizing he sat curled up in a ball in the middle of his bed Angel stood and took of running. He didn't care he wasn't wearing shoes and that he was still wearing his pajamas because he just needed to get away. The sound still rung in his ear but now it was changing, morphing, and shifting constantly.
He was stuck in his past, and stuck in past memories. He was now in his cabin after the attack. The attack his own mother planned and wanted. Even though they fought for the camp, fought for everyone who was injured and captured it didn't matter. They still went after them, some more then others. They were children of Hecate. Children of the betrayer.
Angel leaned against a tree and screamed into his hands. He was safe here because no one could touch him and he was alone from everyone else. No one here would call him a monster or a betrayer. Pulling at his hair he just sat there, shaking, but from the cold or from his fears he wasn't sure.
Angel knew he was deep in the woods, and hard to find, but honestly he wasn't sure if he ever wanted to get found.
