Trip to American Samoa #growguam #pacificpartnerships #thinkbig #oceanandcoastaleconomy #createsolutions *NOTICE OF TRAVEL:* To all concerned, I am off-island and on my way to American Samoa to meet with Lolo Matalasi Moliga along with other local and federal officials. The purpose of the trip is to discuss current and future uses of our oceans and other marine space for food security, jobs, and the preservation of our traditional fishing practices, as well as to discuss data sharing, policy development and management models to support the growth of our coastal and oceans economies while protecting our precious natural resources. If time permits I will also meet with officials on renewable energy, education and environmental stewardship (particularly regarding litter and illegal dumping). The trip is 100% reimbursable with federal monies for approved expenses. The trip is from Thursday, January 26 to Sunday, February 05, 2017. I will share a summary of my trip when I return.
