He’s used to the feeling of paper between his fingers as he flips through books, notes, newspapers, really anything tangible that he can read. And more often than not, he falls asleep in places he doesn’t really mean to, after getting so lost in his thoughts of the contents of a book that he nods off soon afterwards ( sometimes flat out on the books themselves. ) Which is just what happened here, only the book is conveniently placed across his face while he’s leaned back in a chair. Although the librarian hasn’t kicked him out yet, and although he didn’t mean to fall asleep, he remains seated with no intention of moving, really.
Or, he didn’t, until a pile of the books ( nudged by someone, ) falls over clean on top of him, jolting him awake. He removes the books one by one, neatly stacking them back on the table, and as he does he looks right at the person responsible without breaking eye contact.
“I’m guessing you didn’t mean to do that?" Try as he might to hide the exasperation in his voice, he didn’t put a lot of effort into changing his facial expression which shows clear irritation.
