Eventually you see a figure on the same path as you, a pale figure with red hair and a cart full of [Colored Fabrics]

Floating in the air in front of them is a [Glowing Blue Orb] the looks very similar to your own [Orb of Exploration]. Even at this distance you can feel a strange magical heat coming from the blue orb.

Using a small knife, they are hacking away at the yellow vines twisted around the wheel of their cart, one [Wheel] having rolled down the path a few feet away.

While they work on freeing their cart, they are angrily muttering under their breath.

The stranger looks up at you and your team, and you quickly size the three of you up. In a gruff raspy voice they ask you:

Is there an actual math way of doing number 14 on page 584?

Yes of course. There's no such thing as an SAT question that can only be solved with guesstimating (although I do like solving this one that way).

Draw a line along the bottom of the figure, creating a square with sides of length 6, and ALSO a triangle with 2 base angles of 60º. If a triangle has 2 angles that are 60º, then its third angle must be 60º as well, so you've got an equilateral triangle. And since it shares its base with the square, its sides all have length 6.
