The Giant's Causeway, Ireland 2019
Ooh! I had no idea you liked Black Butler! I just watched the first two episodes, but I own the whole first season on ITunes. Still need to watch the rest and have managed to not get too spoiled for it. XD
LMAO Black Butler was my fandom circa. 2017! It's probably the thing I posted about the most on here, it consumed my life for the longest time. Never been as into an anime/manga since.
Which sucks, because the only reason I "fell out" of love with it was because the story got very sluggish in a very stupid way imo. Maybe one day the love will return, but not until something of note happens in the manga :')
If you plan to keep watching, season 1 breaks from the canon storyline halfway through! Season 2 is a whole different story from the manga.
If you want to see what actually happens in the manga storyline, check out season 3 ("book of circus"), followed by the OVA "book murder," then the movie ("book of the atlantic"). These are the manga story arcs that got animated so far! The circus and atlantic arcs are great though!
Assumption: You like to dye your hair colors like blue, purple, red, etc.
Actually no, I’ve never dyed my hair and I don’t ever want to. I don’t mind how dyed hair looks on other people, but I hate it on myself and like how it naturally looks (even if I wish it was a little longer).
Question: Was that giant ground sloth's body found in the ice? is that why it still has some fur on the bone? I'm intrigued!
I’m happy to report that it was actually preserved so well because it was in a cave for 11,000 years and covered in batshit.
What movies or other media do you think influenced your creative voice as a kid?
OOOOH What an interesting question!!
Without a doubt, Disney- the entire Disney Renaissance was my childhood. But also the books I ravenously consumed. I had a love of the spooky with books like “Grandpa’s Ghost Stories”
which I would read again and again, and see my bouncing 5 year old curls to the Nightmare Before Christmas. I loved very classical looking fairy tales, too. Old, sweeping paintings like Dean’s A Book Of Fairy Tales
I coveted this book so much at my Grandma’s house. But then one day, she had gotten rid of it 😭 I’ve since found another copy for myself, but alas!
And then of course, I would be remiss without my extensive love for Greek Mythology
And not to mention Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Patricia Polacco! Childhood staples! I would read and consume the art voraciously as a child. Lion King really got me into art and just the stunning visuals when I was six. Sailor Moon was another influence on me. Then into my tweens, definitely more Tim Burton and Jhonen Vasquez with Invader Zim and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
What movies or other media do you think influenced your creative voice as a kid?
Hmm…that’s an interesting question @pagesofangels!
I think my creative voice was mostly influenced by the cartoons I watched, which included Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Batman: The Animated Series, Darkwing Duck, Pokemon, Beast Wars, and Captain Planet. Disney movies and Labyrinth have also significantly shaped my voice.
They’ve definitely contributed to me being into masked crusaders, animals, and fighting the good fight.
Tbh, Labyrinth explains much of my taste in people, sense of humor, love of the fantastical, and attraction to musicals. I’ve already watched it twice this year! (It aired on TV while I was in New Zealand and it played at a local theater). I try to watch it at least once a year because it’s my absolute fave 😅 But oddly I haven’t drawn any Labyrinth fanart in forever.
Meanwhile Disney movies have turned me into a romantic sap who believes in the power of love and that comes across in my art from time to time, dontcha think? 😊
In conclusion, those are the shows/movies that have permanently penetrated my psyche and I’m cool with that 😎

I had hoped to have finished some of the things I had planned out for you by your birthday, but instead you get this awkward couple pose!
