      “Well, Fullmetal what do you have to say for yourself? Taking a simple task and turning it into full blown problem that I have to come down and deal with. Want to tell me exactly what happened, in your own words?”

He’s never really ever quick to make judgement, especially since he knows Edward always has a perfectly good reason for stirring up trouble, and normally it doesn’t get bad until he’s gone and Roy deals with it himself but this time, they weren’t so lucky.

               “Ed—ward? Edward, why are they taking Daddy?” She nudged her nose against his flesh hand, wanting to place it on top of her head. The pain in her body kept her whimpering and shaking. Now, the stress of watching the soldiers drag her daddy into the truck. 

               “You won’t let them take me, will you?”

               When she heard it was him, a warm feeling spread over her. Even after going back to work, she missed seeing him around and being able to visit him by walking a few blocks down the street. With everything going on, they’d found each other and realized how utterly STUPID they were. Looking at him like he was the stars, but thinking he was just looking at the ground. Now she felt a rock form in her stomach. Something was horribly wrong, but he wasn’t going to tell her what. He never did. His injuries and destroyed automail always came with a half-assed excuse and no explanation. For years, she had taken it without little more than a bit of frustration.

               “Please, just talk to me, Ed.” Something she so desperately want him to do for so long, but the sinking feeling still didn’t go away with the silence on the other end. “Tell me what’s going on.” He was fighting something that he didn’t want her in. What other reason could it be that he’s calling like this? It didn’t make sense.

               Of course, she was trying not to believe his words. That he didn’t want her anyway. She didn’t want to believe his words because if she did, then her heart would break into a thousand pieces. Tears started to well up in her eyes, a sniff was audible over the other end. He was supposed to make her cry with joy… Not this.

               “Why are you doing this? I thought— I thought you wanted this? Please just tell me what’s going on.”
