This piece was a gift for the owner of the hair dressers in local town to say thank you and because Japanese Koi happened to be one of my favourite kinds of fish, although when creating this piece I thought up a little bio if it was in fantasy setting; ''Painted Koi are well known for their beautiful coloured scales, making them quite popular amongst the upper class, artisans and wildlife researchers. These gentle giants live in the many cloud layers, only ever coming down for feeding and breeding. While wild kinds are rarely seen in large cities and towns, special breeds created by selective breeding are quite popular pets by those who can afford it.
