Paladar 511: Chocolate and Banana Sundae - two types of ice cream with peanut brittle toffee and spiked chocolate sauce. EXCELLENT. The ice cream was perfect - creamy, flavored perfectly (even the banana!). Then the toffee and the chocolate sauce - big time winners.

Buttermilk Panna Cotta with roasted peach and lavender cookies. Very good. Nice texture for the panna cotta. Light and refreshing flavor yet still creamy. The peach was a bit like a compote, but it was delicious.

Of the two, the sundae was the winner for me.

We recently brunched at Paladar 511 in the Marigny and it might be one of my favorites now. The food is superb and the prices are reasonable. The only thing I didn't love was the Bloody Mary, but don't let that deter you! From top to bottom: lemon ricotta pancakes, huevos rancheros, Korean short rib & eggs, and the breakfast sandwich. Not pictured is the eggs Benedict which is served on cornbread. Everything, yes I mean EVERY single dish was absolutely delicious. Like, really, really, reeeeallly good. If I had to pick one to eat on my next visit it might be the eggs Benedict or breakfast sandwich. Oh! And I should mention that the breakfast potatoes are heavenly. Their dinner menu also looks great so it has made my list for that, too!
