Resurrection (1999)
throat chakra meditation
First off, let me apologize on this being like a week late, but to be honest, I’ve been in such a funk. I haven’t wanted to blog or anything, but I’m fighting through it because I know this isn’t like me.
Anyways, let’s talk about the throat chakra meditation. So, this is a new meditation that I’ve started since the breathing meditation. There are seven chakras but I want to spend a week going over each chakra so that I can spend that week learning about what that chakra is and how I benefit from meditating with them.
Throat chakra: Is the fifth chakra, it’s positioned at the throat region, near the spine. The physical aspects that this chakra govern are: throat, thyroid, trachea, neck, vertebrae, mouth, teeth and gums, esophagus, parathyroid, and hypothalamus. The throat chakra can serve as healing stone too for those physical features mentioned (i.e lost of voice) but it's still advised to see a doctor and to not just rely on the stone. The throat chakra is about choice, every choice we make is an act of power and has a positive and negative consequence. Problems with this chakra arise from issues with self expression. The challenge of this chakra is to express freely the balance between your personal will and your higher will (personality vs spiritual).
My experience: So far, I’ve done this meditation twice (like I said I’ve been in a funk) and notice a slight difference after doing the meditation. I followed along with Vishudda (Pale Blue/ Ham), which is a track on the Chakra Balancing: Body, Mind and Soul, you can find this album on iTunes (I have an iPhone, so idk if it’s on google play or the windows store). But anywho, I held the stone for the throat chakra on my throat (duh) and followed along with what the track told me to do. Which is basically just tells you to repeat the word “ham” and to concentrate your attention towards your throat area. I noticed that this did help to calm my throat region before singing, which is great because I get nervous and tense before singing. It also helps to remind me to speak my truth. Now i’m still working on this chakra so I can’t give much input but hopefully when I finish this week with this throat chakra I can speak more about my experience.
STAY TUNED (:
