Mool Dwarka - Considered to be a part of the Panch Dwarka Yatra, Mool Dwarka, as the name suggests is the root or the beginning of the Yatra. It is said that Krishna and Balaram stayed here for a while as they traveled to Dwarka with Jarasandh on their heels. Want to know the story? Read on... . . . Jarasandh was at war with Krishna, the war was in fact the main reason for shifting his kingdom to Dwarka. Jarasandh was furious at the constant losses he was facing in his fight against Krishna. He thus took matters to himself and ran into the battlefield behind Krishna. Krishna however had no intention of fighting Jarasandh hand to hand as he knew that was the role Bhima would eventually play. He this kept running away from the battlefield therefore giving him the name "Rannchoddas". . . . I read somewhere that Mool Dwarka was an important port during medieval ages. Also, Marine archeologists found ruins of an ancient city in Dwarka which might possibly be there even under the current day jetty of Mool Dwarka. . . . #mooldwarka #panchdwarka #dwarka #gujarat #indiantemple #indianmythology #jarasandh #krishna #shivalinga #incredibleindia #traveltales #travellover #travel #bangalanonroad #kuchdintohgujarogujaratmein (at Shri mool Dwarka Temple)
