My adventures in block printing continue! Of course I needed to make something for The Kingkiller Chronicle
Can you tell I'm excited for Over the Garden Wall season?
This lovely pattern is by crossstitchquest and can be found free here.
Second block print attempt! Inspired by the jellycat Christmas mice that i dearly wish I'd grabbed while they were available 😔
My second set of ceramics all survived the kiln!
This time I tried my hand at making some funnier shapes, and even two small teapots!
This dark blue is probably my favorite glaze at that workshop, and on the glass I added transparent glaze over it, I really love how they reacted together!
I also did a bit of double dipping. Orange is usually not quite my color but it contrasts quite nicely! I'm just sad the cup on the right has a tiny spot without glaze inside so it won't be food safe :( and the bowl just narrowly avoided cracking all the way through
Very happy with those two shapes, though the glaze choices could have been better 🥲
The bowl on the left is the largest piece I've turned! Its still not quite as big as the ramen bowl I was envisioning haha
And finally, my pride, my joy, my freaking triceratops pot. Fun fact, it wasn't supposed to have that dome on the back, thats one of the sprouts I prepared for my teapots, but it ended up being the perfect size so I couldn't just toss it 🤣
It was so much fun to do this again, and I feel like I'm a lot more in control of what I want to do!
...
And despite saying I definitely needed to take a break, I'm tempted to take another session late summer. Whoops?
I finished the first of the leather projects I'm juggling xD i had to add the second band to hold the flasks properly, but now I can probably run around without jostling them out!
Im gonna have access to the pottery studio and I need to make a list of what I wanna make 👀
I was in a witcher-y mood because of Crossroads of Ravens so I decided my first attempt at block printing should be the medallion 👀 still trying to find the right balance for the ink so that it covers everything without smudging but I'm pretty happy with this first test hehe
Better box pics! It was fun and exhausting and I actually made the same mistakes I had the first time lol, but I persevered!
