Under a cut for length
Hello Michael, I'm Maii and I'm the original poster of the Adam message and I'm here to set a few things straight (ignore the pun).
First of all take off the fandom goggles, take off the shipper goggles and look at this with the eyes of a human being, think you can do that for me for the duration of this message
The question was offensive and Eddy did his best to answer it the nicest way possible. The question was basically telling them they sucked and have you seen the twitter comments.. DEATH THREATS! How is that okay?? TELL ME PLEASE
This is not about SQ being canon or not, this is about the section (i'm saying section bc I've met some lovely SQs who don't deserve to be lumped in with these "fans") of fans that seem to think attacking people is the way to go.
Look at the way their faces fall with the question. They weren't expecting it and it took them off guard and they didn't know how to respond

That was not full of malice that was a good answer.. A good honest answer, would you have preferred the bullshit answers?
I get the feeling betrayed that your ship won't be canon but why should that matter, sometimes noncanon ones are much more fun. Honestly when you get your hopes up for a ship or something along those lines only to see them dashes, it hurts like a motherfucker (I'm a puckleberry, brucas, destiel, merthur fan among many others that will never become canon but have been jerked around by writers/creators). So in that aspect I understand perfectly.. Right now Sterek is my biggest otp and I know it's 50/50 so if anyone understands it's me.
It's okay to be disappointed, but guess what these writers?? They are actually pretty cool they didn't queerbait or anything of the sort the story just wasn't there and wouldn't you prefer to have a good written story than just something that happened out of nowhere? Because it would be out of nowhere.
Regina and Emma weren't written as gay and they were never intended to be gay or attracted to each other. It's always been about Henry (you know Emma's son that Regina raised?) Emma doesn't care about Regina, anything she has done for Regina has been for Henry and just that.
As much as we might think otherwise nobody is entitled to have their ship happen. This is, at the end of the day, Adam and Eddy’s show, and they work their ASSES off to entertain us. But it’s their story to tell and I'm sorry but that doesn't include Swan Queen. It would be completely incongruous to all we know about the characters and the show for that relationship to happen. No this isn't because of homophobia or anything else, it would be the same thing if they were both guys or if one of them was a guy. They were just not written that way. If it doesn't flow with the story then it doesn't flow.
I'm a big doomed ships girl, a friend of mine jokes that if I ship something it will most likely end up not being canon or breaking up forever or someone dying etc. I get it. The point is recognizing you know what? This isn't going to be canon and the signs are there sometimes we don't want to see them but they are there (sometimes we convince ourselves otherwise but deep down we know).
That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, that's why we have fanfiction and fanvids and everything. Just don't take it out on the writers! They are the reason we are all here, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have any of this characters, and yet instead of being grateful for the characters certain "fans" are sending death threats and bombarding them with hate. How is that right? Let me tell you it's not
I personally never saw the "subtext" you guys claim is there because there's never been anything romantic or even vaguely friendly about those two, Regina wanted her dead, almost killed Henry. She's the reason Emma grew up alone, why Charming could never teach his daughter to swordfight and the reason Snow never had the chance to hold her more than a few seconds.
It’s not Adam’s fault, or Eddy’s, or Jen’s, or Lana’s if you read into something that isn’t really there. You ship it, you wanted it to happen, but it’s not. Tweeting death threats and hate at Adam and Jen isn’t going to change the story they are telling, and it’s not exactly making ANYONE in this fandom look great. When the writers and the actors have to say something about the fandom wank you know things aren't right
They work hard every day to bring us our show. Those people are calling themselves fans of a show and yet because one little thing isn’t exactly how they want it to be they choose to be petty and rude.
The cast, crew, writers and creators of Once do not deserve the hate and death threats they are getting. They deserve our utmost respect and gratitude. When they are not working on the show they are taking their free time to interact with us fans. Whether it is over Twitter/Facebook or by doing extra interviews, they give us their time to make us feel special.
Honestly? If it were me being attacked I wouldn't be as good a person as Adam is showing to being, I would have sent you all packing and closed my twitter. Instead we have a writer who is just constantly being told that the show that is his baby is badly written, that he's a homophobe, that he's an awful person, among other things. They started bothering him saturday and it's wednesday and they haven't stopped. Can you imagine that? Not wanting to check your phone because you know all you'll see is wank?
In that interview you can see his frustration and he is close to tears this is a grown man. Where is your heart? He's such a good soul and doesn't deserve this, that's not me being an apologist that's me being a human being.
No other ships receive the same treatment because no other ships attack him the way a certain section of the sq fandom does. They are human beings, they get tired too and fed up with having to deal with the wank thrown their way.
We're not being apologists, HE IS THE SCOURNED PARTY.
An apologist is someone who looks at a character and excuses everything they do. For example Regina and calls her an innocent, that it is not her fault even though she raped & murdered Graham, she tore apart families, massacred hundreds etc.
Adam shouldn't be ashamed, the ones attacking him SHOULD be the ones ashamed. You think Eddy isn't getting hate? of course he is! Adam is just the one responding to the hate. Hell, Jen is getting hate for making a joke.
You want respect, do unto others as you would have them to do to you. You want respect? You have to earn respect. If you don't respect them how do you expect them to respect you, and guess what the crazy thing is that they do. They keep answering the "fans" hate-tweets that's a lot more respect that some of them deserve.
