leon only heard bits and pieces of cassia and pixel’s conversation before he rounded the corner and saw them both. from what he gathered though, it seemed as though pixel was far more treacherous than he had originally given her credit for. he didn’t think less of her of course, he had most definitely performed deceitful actions since the games had started.
“if you want, i can let you kill her. from experience, killing a former ally isn’t as bad as you think it is.” he thought it would have been nice for cassia to seek some sort of retribution for her fallen ally, but it seemed as though she was hellbent on trying to protect her, still. it was sad but also not his problem. so when cassia feigned hurt and started to slowly back up, leon had to laugh. “oh please.” he wasn’t going to believe it for a second.
but when she backed up to one of the carriage doors, he stopped his steady approach and squinted his eyes. leon really hated surprises, and he hated traps even more, but when she revealed the tiny long haired, knife wielding doll - he was torn between howling with laughter and disgust. “you kept that thing hidden?” he had been chased by what felt like a whole gang of the wretched little things, and he had had hoped he would never see one of them again for the rest of his life.
he didn’t waste a second, he let his arrow fly towards the doll and watched it fly backwards and get stuck to the carriage door. the little arms were still flailing about and it made the boy feel slightly nauseous. he had no time to be distracted by them, so when he made sure that was out of the way, he took another and pointed it towards her. “no more games cassia. i don’t want to make this hard for you.”
