New blog!

21. Do they have a temper? Are they patient? What are they like when they do lose their temper?

Gordon can be incredibly patient with animals. People? He’s good with sadsacks and grumps but the last thing he wants to hear is second-guessing. Once something is done, it’s done and there’s no point going over it again and again if it can’t be fixed. Gordy likes actions, not planning. Even if the action is “let’s head that way until we run into something interesting”. 

His profession means spending weeks on end with criminals who just got sprung from prison, the occasional apostate, runaway servants, etc. So there’s plenty of moaning and sighing but Gordon is nothing if not relentlessly cheerful one on one. But he’ll start with the eye-rolling if it’s a complaining session disguised as a “meeting” with his Warden peers. 

He doesn’t do well in long involved debriefings with the higher-ups. If you want to hear what happened in the last 18 months he was wandering Orlais, buy him a pint because he’s not gonna write an exhaustive report. If you want to know the juicy gossipy bits, buy him five pints and also something to nibble on.

Big thumbs up to @blautr-bleikr who mentioned it in probably the first or second round of spit-balling ideas for the trade I wrote Three Weeks to Weisshaupt for. That and the Ronnie Drew faceclaim and then the whole Lawful Good/ The Dude/ Rug Really Tied the Room Together spirit. So great.
