FIRST PERSON P.O.V.
I didn’t notice at first but when I did, Merlin, did I find it strange--and not in a good way; I almost wish I could reclaim my obliviousness. Note: I said almost, but not quite.
After many restless nights just thinking about Pansy’s odd behavior lately, I was able to rack my brain enough to hopefully pinpoint when, exactly, it had started, and I was able to go as far as recalling an instance last September. We had just come back from break and were on the Hogwarts Express.

Cheerily, I greeted everyone in the compartment. ‘Everyone’ was composed of Pansy Parkinson, Blaise Zabini, and my long-term best friend--Draco Malfoy. Where Crabbe and Goyle were at that moment was beyond what I could care to even think about giving a second thought about.
Since Pansy occupied my regular spot, which was the seat next to Draco, I plopped down on the empty spot beside Blaise, who took notice of the small box I held in my hands.
“What, pray tell, is in that?”
I turned to him with a grin on my face. “Cookies!”
Draco chuckled, and I could not help but giggle along.
Pansy was being uncharacteristically quiet, but I thought nothing of it.
Leaning forward to Draco, I held a cookie out towards him. “Want one?”
He merely raised a brow.
“I baked it myself! Just like when we were little.”
“No thanks, Y/N.”
I rolled my eyes and moved closer to him. I had no intention of letting him miss out on tasting my delicious treats. I was so proud of them.
“Oh, come on. You used to love it! I can vouch for this being no different.”
Every time he declined my offer, I’d inch closer to him before threatening to hand-feed him myself. This prompted both Draco and I to erupt into fits of laughter as he repeatedly attempted to dodge my hand holding the cookie.
Eventually, our laughter died down, and Draco ended up taking a bite. He followed this action by snatching the cookie I held in my hand for him and stealing the small box I was previously holding.
Some time later (Draco had already finished the last of my cookies), Pansy pulled out a chocolate frog, and she tried offering it to Draco.
He declined, saying that he was stuffed with enough sweets to last him for the rest of the day.
Pansy wasn’t having it. She tried getting the frog into his mouth, and she was giggling but her eyes looked frustrated. Meanwhile, Draco was bothered and just plain annoyed.
I could tell that he wanted her to stop, so I spoke on behalf of him. “Pansy, I don’t think he’s really feeling up for some chocolate right now.”
She abruptly stopped her actions and huffed, stood up, and shuffled out of the compartment, dropping the box of the chocolate frog on her seat as she went.
Just as she left, Crabbe and Goyle chose that moment to show up and enter the compartment. They made multiple attempts to fit through the door at the same time. Then, Pansy’s chocolate frog caught Crabbe’s eye.
“Is that any of yours?” he pointed at the sweet, addressing me, Draco, and Blaise. We all shook our heads.
He displayed a greedy grin before reaching for it.

Or maybe it started in year four around the time of the Yule Ball.

I don’t get it; I showed Pansy the dress I was going to wear.
We were all ready and waiting for Pansy to emerge from her room so that we could all walk to The Great Hall together, and she came out of her room dressed exactly the same as me, looking quite proud of herself.
My brows furrowed, and I’m beyond confused. “Uh, Pansy?” I needed to know why she would do such a thing. It took me forever to decide on what I was gonna wear.
“Yes?” she giggled as she twirled around. She probably thought that the hanging jaws of our companions was a good reaction. I, however, beg to differ; I think that they were shocked about her outfit perfectly matching mine, and Goyle’s eyes flickering back and forth between us confirmed my suspicion.
I frowned, “Nevermind,” then I hesitated before following everyone to The Great Hall with Pansy taking the lead.
Draco hung back, tugged on my arm, and lead me back to my room. I sighed as I sat on my bed.
“What are you doing, Draco? The Great Hall isn’t in my bedroom.”
He rolled his eyes before opening my trunk and rummaging through it.
“I doubt you’re willing to go dressed exactly the same as Parkinson, so I’m going to help you pick out another dress. I know you kept a few others.”
-
Another possibility is that time--those times, really--when Pansy stole my lines, and by ‘my lines’ I mean things I would usually comment.
-
Draco was having a bad day--that much was evident--for what reason I did not know, and as he stalked towards The Great Hall with me for dinner, I opened my mouth with one snarky remark at the ready when--
“Whose wand got stuck up your arse, Malfoy?”
Draco snapped, “Have you got a problem with me, Parkinson?”
She looked as though she wasn’t expecting that sort of reaction and hurriedly scurried away, mumbling to herself about Merlin knows what.
Draco sighed and rubbed his hand up and down his face. I knew he needed the comfort, so I took his hand in mine and smiled sideways at him. Then,
“Really though, whose wand got stuck up your arse?”
He chuckled, a wide grin forming on his face when his eyes met mine.
“Shut up, Y/L/N.”

Either way, whichever instance Pansy started to seem like she was copying me, it never ended well for her because every time I would see her after pulling one of these stunts, she would appear to be sulking or she would look more grumpy than she usually was. I was beginning to be concerned, which is why I’m currently on my way to her room.
I knocked on the door a few times before calling out, “Pansy?”
I heard shuffling from inside, then the door swung open.
“What are you doing here?”
I made my way past her, which elicited an insincere “Oh yes, come in” from Pansy, and sat on her bed. It seemed like everyone else was already at dinner.
She sat on the bed beside hers, facing me.
“Pans, you’ve got to stop.”
“Stop what?”
“You know what.”
She pursed her lips, and I sighed.
“Why do you even do it--copy me?”
It was her turn to sigh. “I just want Malfoy to like me.”
How would copying me bring Draco to like her? My brows furrowed, and “What do you mean? Just be yourself, Pans, I’m sure he’d appreciate that much more than what you’re doing.”
“You don’t understand!,” she stood up and pointed a finger at me, “He loves you, and you’re too blind to see it! I want that. I want him to love me!” and with that she ran out the room, the door banging against the wall behind her.
Ironically, Draco was on the other side of the door, a slight pink tinge on his cheeks.
He chuckled lowly as he raised his hand to rub the nape of his neck, “Well, I guess my secret’s out now, isn’t it?”
