We decided to end our time on the Indian subcontinent with 10 lazy days in Goa at Palolem Beach. After a long 30 hour train + bus + tuk tuk ride from Udaipur to Palolem, we arrived in Palolem beach on Thanksgiving day.
it gets a little chilly on the trains

Arrived in time for sunset on Thanksgiving day
Each year in Palolem, wooden huts are constructed right on the beach that are used for lodging, shops, restaurants and bars. There is no need to ever leave the beach once you arrive! The beach huts stay standing from Oct - March and are then taken down before monsoon season hits. It's crazy to think that all this work is done to construct these buildings only to have them torn down at the end of the season.
We stayed at Fernandes beach huts - right on the beach!
Right next to our beach huts, a litter of puppies had made themselves a home under the beach chairs. I couldn't resist them.
We spent our days in Palolem swimming, playing paddle ball, walking the beach and drinking cocktails. Our second to last day, we decided to stop being lazy and venture off our beach. For only $4, we were able to rent this scooter for the day. I had never been on a scooter before - it was so much fun!
We rode out to the neighboring beaches of Pantem and Agonda.
No Indian beach would be complete without a few cows (at Agonda Beach)
