Another light bulb flickers. They shake up the evening with a game of musical chairs: joining their two awful ventures into one double-date so they can be together. And hopefully stay together, once their obligations end…

Three Things by PaperAnn

Summary: For the most part, Dean got along with everyone. Or at least could fake it. Dealing with Castiel Novak was a completely different story.

Three very distinct things were working against him.

The first being he flirted with anything remotely attractive that moved, and ignored customers in his attempts to warm his bed at night. It wasn’t as though he was just an alpha. He was a fuckin’ alpha on steroids, who had a one track mind when it came to getting laid, which just so happened to be every. Single. Night.

The second was the fact that he came into work high as fuck most nights, and Dean could always count on it Fridays and by the end of his shift Sunday.

But his third problem?

Castiel Novak was hot as fuck. Like he had walked right out of one of Dean’s wet dreams, and he hated how much his body craved him. He hated him on paper: slut, hard drug user, street drug seller, who knew what else was on that list. But he wanted him. Bad.

Comments: 10/10. This is a rollercoaster all the way through, one crisis after another and so full of drama. You think Cas’s drug addiction is going to be their biggest problem, think again! There’s jealous ex’s, criminal pasts, rehab, crazy people, and so much more fluffy domestic things. It’s so angsty but so fluffy and I honestly cannot say enough good things about it. Wonderfully written with an amazing plot, a plot worth a whole series of novels. They have the worst luck in history, and they are a family of people with shady pasts but good hearts, and it’s just so good. 57 chapters of angst, drama, fluff, domestic bliss, and smutty smut smut. Seriously, I would read this just for the smut. There’s destiel, sabriel, jo/charlie, meg/kali, and a lot of pasts. It’s amazing and I love it. WARNINGS: drug addiction, rehab, miscarriage scare (no actual miscarriage, there is one in the past but not current couples), mpreg. They’re true mates and it’s wonderful. There’s some warnings that are huge spoilers, if you’re curious message me and I can tell you. NOT a lighthearted fic but it’s awesome. Endverse Cas goes through rehab and becomes normal Cas.

They entered into a deal: Sam would work a case under the guise of a Trickster to see the reason behind the mischief by serving up a case of Just Desserts. If Sam won? He got Dean back. If he lost…well, Sam wasn’t going to lose, no matter the cost.

Except, seven days of living on top of one another made Sam see beyond the monster who ruined him and back to the witty, cute janitor he met at Crawford Hall. There was also the problem of the two men, who were clearly attracted to each other, alone in a motel room for a full week. It was an accident waiting to happen.

The puzzle was, neither knew who was manipulating who, if it was all a ploy or real emotions were coming out to play. The only thing both men recognized was something real was happening.

And they were running out of time.

It was too damn hot.  Dean’s slacks were chafing against his ass, while seated on these stupid ‘contemporary’ bench seats. His feet didn't even reach the ground, and he was a tall dude! There were just…hanging. His normal nervous knee-bounce turned into a sway, the toes of his boots knocking against the center column of the high top table now and again. Every time they'd 'clu-clunk,' he'd jar the entire damn fixture, drinks sloshing, all while trying not to wince. Now normally, Dean wasn’t too picky about what he ate. Food was food was food—he was a happy camper.   This restaurant was a den of lies. The joint slapped some sauce on a fancy-ass cracker, topped it with a single leaf of spinach, and called it good while draining his bank account. That wasn’t even the worst of it. Which brought Dean to the main event... He was going to kill Jo! How could his best friend throw him under the bus like this?! Dean was flabbergasted, honestly unsure if this blind date was a prank—a joke gone horribly wrong—or maybe he wasn’t getting the memo. Maybe (stranger still) Jo randomly struck up a friendship with this weird, self-absorbed, British dude, coming up with the idea while she was smashed. Because, okay, yeah, he was hot. That was the only thing he had going for him. They weren’t even through the first half of dinner and Dean was crawling out of his skin, but he couldn’t ditch now! In Dean’s flitting, nervous attention he picked up on something directly beyond the nightmare in front of him  Or rather, a someone who caught his eye. Another guy.  One who looked like his mirror image: aimlessly kicking the air underneath the goddamn tables.  He was grasping the edges of his napkin so hard, Dean could see his white knuckles all the way across the room.  It was a wonder he hadn’t torn the thing in half! For the briefest second, the man must have felt eyes on him. He looked up and met Dean’s gaze. Oh. Wow.  He knew that expression. Dean hadn’t thought it possible.  There was another person in this shitty restaurant having a worse date than he was! What were the odds?
