I’m not good at making gifs, but here’s a backstory post on my Ivy 💚
Under the cut, cause I don’t wanna clog ur dash
Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, PhD, asked to be placed as far away from people as possible to conduct her research. A neglectful childhood, an array of unsupportive partners, and the disparaging looks from her coworkers about her appearance gave her no want for company. Unfortunately, she was saddled with a reasearch partner, Jason Woodrue.
They mainly stay out of eachother’s way, working on different projects, which suits her just fine. She suspects that he is hiding something, doing odd experiments at all hours of the night, but ignores it. If she brings it up they might both be sent back to the city and investigated. That would ruin her work.
During an argument about how the lab space should be kept clean, Jason throws a Petri dish at her. It shatters, cutting into her face, and the argument is over. She tells him to clean the lab and goes to get medical attention.
Like with most of her scars, she covers it in a tattoo. This time she chooses lavender. Woodrue doesn’t apologize. The lab is cleaned when she gets back.
While working one day, Jason squints at her tattoo. He asks her if she added onto it. She assumes that the ink is bleeding, and makes a mental note to chew out the tattoo artist when she gets a chance. She forgets. Jason doesn’t bring it up again. His work seems to be stalling.
Angry that he is getting nowhere, Woodrue yells at Pamela, accusing her of stealing his work. He makes an offhand comment about how “fucked up your face looks” and she doesn’t have patience for him anymore. She tells him that she’s done nothing but try to help the environment, that he’s nothing more than a self-centered selfish bastard, that he should be lucky that she hasn’t reported him already for whatever shady shit he’s trying to pull on the university’s bankroll. At this point he is lashed to the ground with vines, terrified out of his mind, and Pamela makes a realization. She digs through his things, finding that he was working for a drug ring in Gotham City. She finishes her research.
She leaves his corpse in the forest, decomposing already.
