Before Sunset || Colt and Dolph (backdated 2/19)

Colt had taken the day off, making sure everything was set for Dolph and him to enjoy their last weekend together. It would be a month before he’d see his husband again and Colt was pretty nervous. For various reasons, most of them having to do with leaving Dolph alone while so much stress was on the younger man’s shoulders. Colt knew his own trip was going to be stressful but he was just hoping at this point that the stress would just ease up on him instead of hitting him all at once the moment he was off the plane.

Shrimpy had been fed (and she was possibly pissed at him for leaving too considering she’d refused to cuddle with Colt) and he was heading up the stairs to find Dolph. 

“Poodle? Wheeere aaaare you?”

There were so many beautiful things written about days like this. Things that touched hearts and made eyes tear simply by the emotions they conveyed. Scenes in movies and books, fine tuned and explored to ensure that the message of love and devotion was obvious and understandable. He had seen most of those, well...not the book ones but he knew he’d seen plenty of movie adaptions. And none of them came even close to explaining what he was feeling in that moment. 

Today was his wedding day. A day he never thought, had never even imagined, would come. Yet...here he was. Standing backstage in a one of kind white tuxedo. His hair neat and palms sweaty. Waiting for his cue to walk towards the small, humble alter. The Rabbi was the same one from his childhood and it was amazing to see how long it really had been since he’d given up on ever finding Miss Right.

Colt laughed softly to himself, there was a reason for that...considering he never found her. Instead, he’d found him. Dolph. The beautiful, blue-eyed blond waiting for him at the other end of the short aisle. The ceremony was short, he knew this...he’d been to some before, but somehow...knowing that at the end of this one he would be married to the man he loved. It was going to feel like forever before he claimed that kiss and shattered the glass, ending their separate lives and joining them together as one

Chinese Relaxation Technique ||Dolph and Colt

The Chinese food was making the cab smell a slight bit better than it usually would. Which made the long trip home a bit more enjoyable. Either way, when the cab pulled up to the driveway Colt could. It be happier. Paying, he hopped out and headed into the house. Hiding the worry that had been plaguing him all day. "Poodle? Hey, Lucy I'm home!" He elated the take-out bag in the counter, laughing softly when he felt tiny paws against his leg. Lofting up the tiny yorkie, he hugged her close, "aw hey, Shrimpy. Don't worry, I got short ribs just for you."

LLAP || Dolph and Colt

The Wrath of Khan had just ended, he figured the movie where Spock dies would be a fitting end to his marathon. Even though now his back was protesting having sat on the couch for so long. Standing up he stretched out, back popping nicely as he uncramped his muscles. Somehow, probably thanks to Dolph, he was used to moving around a lot more.

"Geez...that was a good day." He looked over at the couch, Shrimp Dog hadn't moved from her spot, just lifted her head. Colt grinned and knelt in front of her. "Hey you lazy, spoiled dog. Come on. You gotta go out." Shrimp Dog instead just rolled over on her back, begging for belly rubs. Colt laughed and hung his head. "Damn dog." And yes he did give into the request for belly rubbings.

As he fluffed and played with the little dog, his mind began to wonder. Dolph was grumpy...probably closer to pissy but that had been due to those assholes he worked with. The kid hadn't been sleeping, that much was obvious. He'd been pushing himself...and Colt wasn't sure if he was doing much to help. Yeah he could get him to smile but...it never stuck.

Shrimp Dog licked his hand and Colt smiled gently, ruffling her fur before standing again and heading to wards the kitchen, wondering where Dolph had gone as he refilled the dog dishes and picked up his own mess.

Hold you Together || Colt and Dolph

December was really cold. Like really fucking cold. Yet, Colt couldn't bring himself to drive his car to work everyday. The subway was warm and it was only a fifteen minute walk from the subway station to their house anyways. He could survive fifteen minutes of bitten, fucking cold winds.

"Geez. So cold. So very, very cold." 

That didn't mean that he wouldn't complain of course. Which he was doing, happily, as he ran up the steps and let himself into the house. He jumped around a bit, warming himself up enough to take off his jacket and gloves. He rubbed the small bandage on his bicep, Punk had asked for something...and he'd been left with a nice little gash. Good thing his best friend was well versed in stitches, and that people believed Colt was horribly accident prone.

"Poodle! I'm home!" He'd seen the messages on the dash, and he walked around the house carefully. Not wanting to step on his fiance. "Where are you, floor master?"

Nightlife || Colt and Dolph || Forward dated 12-14-14 2 am

The house was dark....cold...why was it cold? It was never cold. Or empty....where the hell was the furniture? Colt stopped and called around the house. Dolph's name just echoing back in his own voice. He felt panic and fear...again he called out. This time, he didn't even get an echo. His feet lead him towards the door, even though he wanted to get upstairs desperately.

STill fast asleep Colt gave a small groan, rolling over and away from Dolph as he reached out for something in his sleep.

He threw open the door...rain. Why was there rain...and flowers? It was December right? Or spring...it looked spring like. "DOLPH!" He stopped. Why the hell was he stopping?! Dolph was there! Loading...loading up the car with everything. Ignoring the fact that should be impossible, Colt just watched as Dolph stared at him blankly before pulling out of the drive way.

Colt gave another groan, rolling back over and kicking covers off, even though the heater hadn't kicked on yet and the house was a bit chilly. Sleep still held him but he buried his face against the pillow, whimpering lightly into the fabric.

"DOLPH!" His voice echoed again. The street was empty now. His lover long gone. All that Colt had were puddles. Puddles and the tears he was shedding both in the dream and in the waking world. His dream-self sank to his knees, watching the car get smaller and smaller until he couldn't see it. All alone...all alone...

His Reason for Loving | Dolph and Colt | Forward dated to October 19

Saturday had become Sunday in the blink of an eye and the passing of an evening. The stars had vanished and the sun was shining weakly down on Chicago, trying it's hardest to wake up her citizens. Well, all except one. Colt. He had not slept much the entire night. Caught up in watching the man in his arms, the same man that he'd been with completely for a year now. Had know for longer. The man that meant more than the world to him....that had opened his eyes and heart to the simple and all consuming idea of love. With such a distraction it was hard to be tired or cranky once the faint light of morning peaked in.

Not planning on getting up until well past noon, colt rolled over and pulled Dolph closer. Sighing softly as he dozed with his nose buried against Dolph's temple. Letting his scent lull him into a soft sleep. 

Eventually morning became afternoon and Colt stirred. He had plans for the day....plans that would start in about an hour and a half going by the clock. He glanced at Dolph, seeing if the man he loved was awake or not.

Chicago's Forgotten || Dolph and Colt

"Keys, keys.....ugh..ha!" He pulled his hand out of the couch, keys clutched safely in them. Standing up he started towards the door, waiting for Dolph with their light jackets. The day time was still hot but as the sun went down, the cool breeze off Lake Michigan really started to hit.

"Poodle? Kid, you ready?" He asked when he saw Dolph approaching, holding the jacket out for him to put on before wrapping his arms around the man.
