'Tis the Season ● Dorcas and Marlene
Dorcas liked Christmas, she liked the way the trees looked and the way her neighbors strung up lights that shone through the snow. But, Dorcas did not like Christmas shopping, which was precisely the reason she had managed to prolong the experience until this exact moment. She needed to get presents for the Marauders, Marlene, her mother, Lily, her brother, and she'd probably send something to her gran just because she knew her mother would forget to.
Just because she was doing it, didn't mean she was happy about it. And it didn't help that it was below freezing outside. Even wrapped in her favorite coat, mittens and even a scarf-- her mum's expertly applied heating charm still wasn't cutting it. And, the streets were too crowded. Dorcas could barely see five feet in front of her. She didn't stand a chance at finding Marlene by searching the crowd, so she had taken up post inside Quality Quidditch Supplies and prayed that Marlene would find her soon.
She'd hex the next overeager second year that pushed her into a shelf. But, it wasn't bad getting a look at the Shooting Star in the window.
