Coffee and Already Made Decisions || Alice & Marlene
Her friend was late, and Alice was tapping the wooden table in front of her.
In times like these, when the war got worse every day, one - and especially Alice - couldn't not get worried if someone they loved was late, or missing, or not where they were supposed to be. It was completely ridiculous and Marlene McKinnon was probably fine, but Alice couldn't help but being a little worried that her friend was late for another reason than just leaving her house too late.
And so she was taking it out on the poor table.
The cafe Alice was in was fairly empty, so it was quiet, with the exception of subdued indie music. Alice looked out the window her table was beside. The few trees outside were starting to lose their color now, and soon enough it would be winter; Alice loved winter.
Nice try, she thought to herself, putting her head in her hand, defeatedly.
Trying to take her mind elsewhere wasn't working.
Alice let out a small sigh as she kept looking out the window, occasionally glancing towards the door in the hope of seeing her friend walking through. They had set up to just take a coffee, a small day out together. Alice wanted it, with Auror training she wasn't seeing close to as much of her wild friend as she was used to, and she missed her so incredibly much, even though she still saw her almost daily. So meeting her now and just talking like normally was great, and Alice could really use the calming of nerves. She had been so tense lately. She had known why for weeks now, and she had made her decision at the same moment the offer came up. But the decision was making her tense, and a little tired. Namely because she hadn't told anyone yet, and she knew - being as she was putting her life in more danger than she already was in - she had to tell soon..
Realising she had stopped tapping her finger, she automatically started again.
Couldn't Marlene show up soon?
