You can kid the world, but not your sister || Katelyn & Brielle
Brielle had been worried ever since they arrived at camp that Katelyn was furious at her for dragging her along to this camp. True, Katelyn didn't exactly belong here. She had friends at school, wasn't like her quiet and generally antisocial older sister. Brielle was the one who needed this camp. Not because increased socialization would turn her straight (although that was her mother's hopes and Brielle would cheerfully lie to make her believe that once the summer was over), but because soon, she'd be off to college, far away from their tiny town and once there, she would need to make more friends.
But, of course, there was no way Brielle was leaving Katelyn home without her all summer. She knew her sister wouldn't eat if she wasn't there to make her and would have spent the entire summer worrying and fretting over her little sister. It was in Brielle's nature, she felt like she had to protect Katelyn from herself. She was privately hoping that maybe this summer would make a difference, give her a reason to think that Katelyn would be okay once she left for college. She wanted more than anything for her baby sister to be okay.
But wanting something didn't make it come true and Brielle knew that. She had to do something. So right now, she was looking for her sister, trying to figure out where in camp she was. It was just before lunch, maybe Katelyn would be in the dining hall. Then again, it was very likely she would skip lunch, but Brielle had to hope. She walked through the double doors, her messy ponytail swinging as she looked around the large room for some sign of the mess of dark hair so similar to her own.
