At the emergency vet with my cat. He's had a collection of related health issues over the past year that have really decreased his quality of life. He's only 6, and loves nothing better than snuggling up with his humans under a blanket and purring so hard. (Well, and eating is also a close second favorite activity.) He's really the sweetest cat, definitely the sweetest and snuggliest of my 3.
We're going to try one last treatment option so we can bring him home at least for a little bit. If nothing else because the kids need to be able to say goodbye. M especially is going to be really upset, she's long claimed him as "her" cat. And they had no notion any of this was coming, i just kind of left in a hurry with him this morning.
I wish so many things had been different.
really off topic, but does anyone have experience with paralyzed cats and taking care of them?
or suggestions on what kind of stuff to buy for them?
you know, now that i have a paralyzed cat, i am so mad that people put them down just because they're paralyzed. honestly, he's the easiest cat i've ever had. i know some people aren't ready to deal with it, but all i have to do for him that's different from another cat is put a diaper on him and help him get around sometimes. like, he's really not that hard to take care of and it's not like he's suffering or anything. idk. it's frustrating.
A Dachshund was very protective of her BFF, a cat with paralyzed back legs, when the two were found abandoned along a busy Florida street.
