8th Grade Parent Letter about music blog
* This will be passed out in paper copy Monday, 9/16/13. The bottom part of the form needs to be returned to school signed.
September 15, 2013
Dear Parents of 8th grade students,
I am writing to inform you of some activities that we have begun in music class. This year Mrs. Weiner has asked me to introduce the 8th grade students to Contemporary Christian Music. If you have heard of the radio station KLOVE, 94.3 they play Contemporary Christian Music. This is a great opportunity for your children to explore the same styles of music that they like, but with a Christian message. We will be learning a few of these songs to sing at our school masses too!
Because there is no textbook to accompany this lesson, I am putting it together myself. The delivery format for these lessons is my blog at Tumblr.com. Some of the students have informed me that they are not allowed to have a blog. This is ok! In no way am I trying to overstep parental boundaries! If your child is not allowed to have a blog, please indicate that on the form below so that I know to give them paper copies of what we are discussing for that day. I do want you to know that your child, if they have an email address, can sign up for a tumblr account and just follow the blog for our class.
The blog address is http://jrsidermusicteacher.tumblr.com/.. I want to take this opportunity to assure you that your children will not be reposting or reblogging on any other site during class time. I am very vigilant and walk around the room so that I can see what is on their computer screens. In addition, the school’s technology policy does apply as well.
In closing, I want you to know that it is a privilege to teach your children. If you have comments or concerns, please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the school office and leave a message.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Sider
