Very happy for my little cousin about to bring a little prince into this world. God bless the journey and congratulations on your bundle of joy on the way. #family #parenttobe #love #selfportrait #newyork #jnote
This baby in trouble y’all #2018 #parenttobe #Assclowns #wtf #gotstobemorecareful (at Red Oak, Georgia)
Hi! This is me. I wear clothes only from the sales rack, drive a cheap motorcycle from Craigslist, and have anxiety when others are watching me. I am becoming a dad soon. I am learning to love myself more each day, so that I may teach our son to love himself and others well. #mystory #parenttobe 📸 by baby mama @sjleeillustration (at WELD)
You're so not prepared for this shit.
Thoughtful Thursday
One thing I have been thinking a lot about is baby gear and how unnecessary a lot of it is. I was shopping at Target yesterday to pick up the last minute things I needed, like vinegar to clean toys with and that sort of thing, and I saw all these baby activity mats and jungle gyms and toys. Each of these toys were so crazy expensive and complex. Looking at the price tag and the benefits of each product that was listed on the packaging, it made me feel inadequate because I had not purchased any of these things for my baby. I have a swing, a boppy pillow, and a bouncer for her and that’s it for baby positioning!
However, after doing some research (especially at CanDo Kiddo) I found that realistically, these baby gear things might actually be hurting baby’s development. There are other ways that we can better stimulate our baby that are more natural and will help further their development than these expensive contraptions. Rachel at CanDo Kiddo actually lists different ways to interact with baby and help them learn how to move and interact with the world. The best part is most of the stuff is affordable or something you might even already own. That made me feel some much better because I don’t have all the money to spend on baby toys and baby gear! I think that this information should be more readily available to other parents to be because they don’t have to spend a fortune on all this stuff for their baby. They can just enjoy their baby!
Working more on decorating our little nursery today. It's not Pinterest worthy in the slightest, but I've decided that just because I'm not able to provide that quality of a nursery does not make me a bad parent.
