What do you like to do with clothes you’re getting rid of? I went through all the clothes I have and managed to find some I can part with. 9 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair gym/sleep pants and a couple old masks. I still have too much. A Farewell Of Sorts

I spent most of yesterday tearing my website apart. As the owner of Paper Ink Love, I knew getting the domain was necessary but as far as driving any traffic to it - lets just say I’ve been slacking…or uninterested.

Most of my sales come from Etsy (www.paperinklove.etsy.com) anyway and the people that find my website are usually Etsy customers first, so I thought to myself, “Self, why are we paying money every month for an asset that isn’t being used?”

Part of the concern is that I’ve sunk all my money into things that I see as having value (like the mobile home, #Area81) but that need more money in order to materialize as the rocking awesome investment that they are - but I don’t have any more money :)

So the two next logical steps are to reduce bills and increase work, and that’s what I’m doing now.

It was a little sad to delete all the work I was once so happy to produce (I had over 35,000 SKUs) but as I’ve moved and reduced so many times in the past, part of me was pretty comfortable with the broad sweeping change. It’s only data after all.

My Etsy shop has sat near empty for the last few months while my personal life took up my attention, but the listings were still available and I am still capable of printing and producing all the items, so it was time to get them back up and running. My intention is to create new work and new products but until I can get that ball rolling, I figure it’s best to something available for purchase and people seem to like it :)

It also occurred to me that since most of my business comes from Etsy, when things pick up financially, my money would be better spent investing in my Etsy shop rather than my personal website, by renewing listings and getting higher rankings, so that’s the plan for now.

I’m going to hang on to the Paper Ink Love URL though, so that when the time is right, I can have someone else do all the work :)
