Just a little update on where we are in terms of ‘work in progress’.
We are now moving onto modeling the concept on the software Revit with background research. There are spaces to make small changes within the project but not overall because our assumptions based on before and after research still balanced.
Alot of practice was based off knowledge gained from the paper ‘Research Practicum’. The concept of Participatory Design held a great advantage for our studio paper leading into making a decision on how to progress with the research and implementing the project. I personally think this project is highly dependent on my research practicum paper where it helped me decide on the techniques that fits my project. The PD map given above is well discussed in the other paper, complimenting the techniques (shown above) chosen for this studio paper.
Briefly, the under layer for this project holds ‘Non-participatory design’ for both online sources and surveys through interviewing. By interviewing, we understand peoples thoughts and behaviours, giving us the foundation for the performance overall.
