hook up culture is real yall and you can either play into it or avoid it. either way. whether you find it liberating or confining, its totally fine. college is what you make of it and as long as you’re making safe choices you’re good. that being said, here’s a small checklist in case you do decide that you’re going to go out for a night of fun without a clue where you’ll end up:
1. charge your phone 2 hours before so that you can be contacted at all times.
2. make sure you have your id card either in your phone case or in your pocket.
3. pregame: you’ll have a better idea of how much you’ve drank plus frat parties generally have pretty shitty alcohol anyway
4. at the beginning of the night, definitely stick with a friend(s) -- that being said, if you decide to dip, make sure you tell your group of friends so that you’re not stranded on your own
5. if you need to get out of a bad situation, my failsafe is to pretend im drunk as hell and pretend to fall away from the person and then disappear into the crowd (obviously it sucks that people would have to resort to this but its always a good tactic just in case)
obviously this isn’t everything and if you have any more questions or comments feel free to send them in but these are just a few things i thought of that might make your night safer
Take yo own advice
If you’re at a bar with friends and not into alcohol, see if you can ask for a non-alcoholic dealer’s choice. The bartenders tend to have fun doing stuff with it, it’s cheaper without the booze, and it can introduce you to neat flavors.
