Yesterday marked the beginning of the Christian Holy Week (Semana Santa) and Spanish Traditions are very intense. Elaborate processions take place on the streets of many villages here on the island so if visiting during this time be aware of many street closings as well as many shops, and markets to be closed on holy days. This Friday and Easter Sunday & Monday most places will be completely shut. So don't be left with no food in your villa and be sure to preorder you pastries at the local bakery! It's time to be in the kitchen cooking with your family.
