I had the honor of photographing one of the heroes and godfather's of custom car building, Mr. Gene Winfield. As part of my long term project entitled "Passing" I am documenting people, places and things that have contributed to the life we know and love yet are slowly fading from the collective consciousness. Mr. Winfield had just celebrated his 90th birthday when I photographed him at his shop in the Mojave desert on this 113 degree June day and yet his energy, passion and zeal for all things custom car related were as strong as ever.
