First off, I loved the episode. Actually, I loved 5 of the 6 episodes I watched this season. Anyway, back to Slade. I loved him in the episode, which is something I thought would never happen, not only because of Season 2, but because I didn’t really care for him from the get-go.
Now after almost 24 hours, and watching it a couple more times, I’m starting to wonder if he was to good be true. Was he being truthful with Oliver about the Mirakuru and being “in possession of all his marbles”? By the way, how much time passed (storyline-wise) between “Unthinkable” and “The Return”? Almost a year, right? Would it really take a year or longer for the Mirakuru to leave his system?
The scene at the temple with Oliver and the team also got me thinking. When Oliver told Diggle he didn’t and couldn’t believe Chase that William was dead, the camera turned to Slade. Why? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I hope so because it will make me really angry if Slade turns on Oliver again. Plus, I would really like him to be redeemed and not go back to being Oliver’s enemy. What are your thoughts? Am I overthinking things?
