Dining in Newport: Pasta Beach
Seafood is huge in New England and the Italian cuisine has been long established in Rhode Island. So, when we spotted an appetizing aroma coming from Pasta Beach walking down Memorial Boulevard, we knew we'd found the right place for dinner.
At Pasta Beach the food is very good, the chef is Italian, prices are moderate, and plates are large enough to share.
The pasta here was cooked to perfection--al dente. I'd give it 5 stars, but the tomato sauce was a bit too thick, not very homemade-like, so 4 stars it is.
Gamberi: Spaghetti, shrimp, parsley. Loved it!
Linguine with shrimp, arugula, and cherry tomatoes.
For dessert we had fresh strawberries & cream--creamy, sweet, and slightly acidic.
Pasta Beach, located at 7 Memorial Blvd, is tiny and busy. Reservations are strongly recommended.
