Congress announced that the cost of the proposed border wall would be $14 billion dollars. Which got me thinking, what other pressing needs could we address in our country with $14 billon. What else would you do with $14 billion to improve our world? I am for real border control and legal immigration reform #PathwayToCitizenship #congress #Senate #whitehouse

Day 3- My mom is incredibly patient and strong. When my dad asked if she wanted to go to the U.S with him or stay in Mexico, she decided to go with my dad. She didn't want her daughter to grow up without a father, the way she was forced to when her father abandoned her. She's spent the last 20 years supporting her family, being a caretaker, a supporter, the rock and foundation of our family. And she doesn't give herself enough credit. She says she's dumb and can't learn anything because she didn't go to school, but she's taking ESL classes and has even volunteered at my sisters' schools. She's learned so much by herself, even though she NEVER went to school, not even elementary. I'm fasting for her, because she deserves to learn and grow without living in constant fear of deportation and being torn from the family she created. #FamiliesFightBack #DAPA #FifthCircuitCourtofAppeals #PathwaytoCitizenship (at Monument To The Immigrant)

Day 2- My dad, just like many of yours, is incredibly hard working. He's worked since he was a child and never once complained about it. He worked to support his parents and younger siblings. And for the last 20 years he's worked to provide a better life for his daughters. He's waited so patiently to be recognized as a fellow countryman of the U.S, but it hasn't been easy for him. I've only seen him cry 3 times. Once when he told me how proud of me he was for being at Harvard. The second when he told me how he was mistreated and ridiculed for not speaking perfect "conventional" English. And the third when when his mother, my grandmother, passed away in Mexico and he didn't get to see her or even say goodbye. So, I'm fasting for him.
